David Reid, BA CFIA CISSP FBCS, The Managing Director and senior Consultant of Evidential Systems has 30 years experience of law enforcement and criminal investigation.
For the last 15 years David has specialised in the impact of Information and Communications Technologies ( ICT ) in the commission of crime.
He has a Bachelors Degree in Computer System and Programming, a Masters level accreditation in Computer Forensics, a number of professional IT qualifications from Microsoft, Novell etc and has received training in a wide range of forensic tools for a variety of Operating System platforms.

- A highly experienced Computer Forensic Analyst and Forensic Team Manager, with a track record of developing successful teams.
- A high profile speaker and lecturer both nationally and internationally to a wide range of commercial, governmental and academic audiences.
- Holder of a DV security clearance for the last 7 years.
- The project manager, for the initial formation of, and operations manager for the National Hi-Tech Crime Unit (Scotland). A former senior detective with over 15 years of forensic examinations experience and more than 2000 cases as either lead or review examiner.
- A former member of the Council of Europe’s Cyber Experts Group, lecturer on behalf of European Commission to new accession states on cyber crime and data security and lecturer in computer forensics to post graduate courses at Strathclyde and Edinburgh universities.
- Senior project board member on European Commission project looking at forensic readiness and incident response.
- Has experience in the design and maintenance of major network infrastructures, as well as public / private sector partnership project management looking at data capture and dissemination with a view to combating major retail crime.
